Looking for ways to have fun, improve your skills and be creative? The Cape Cod Maritime Museum has several options available, sure to make a long winter feel more bearable.
On Tuesday, January 15 from 7-9 p.m. the CCMM will host a Cape Cod Map Valentine Wooden Sign craft for its monthly Ladies Maritime Craft Night. All supplies are included in the $35 cost and the craft will be completed and ready to take home that night. Light refreshments and soft drinks will be available. Participants may bring their own wine or beverage if they desire. Instructor: Mary Richmond
Wednesday afternoons the CCMM will hold an 8 week sketching class called Sketching for Scaredy Cats beginning January 17. This is a class for people who have never taken a drawing class and who have not made art since they were in middle school. In other words, this is a class for those who want to try their hand at sketching but want a safe place to try it out. Gentle instruction and lots of encouragement will be provided. Cost is $95 for the 8 week session. Students only need a pad of unlined paper or a sketchbook and a #2 pencil to start. Instructor: Mary Richmond
Exploring Color with Watercolors will be held at the CCMM beginning Thursday, January 18 and running for 10 weeks. Aimed at advanced beginners and intermediate students this course will address many color problems that many students have skipped right over. Class will be held from 10 a.m through noon and a list of suggested supplies will be sent upon registration. Cost is $130 or $20 per class. Instructor: Mary Richmond
Class size is small and classes fill up quickly. Pre-registration and payment is a must and may be done online at Capecodmaritimemusuem.org/education.
