Travelers catching a flight out of Barnstable Municipal Airport will be able to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and a bite to eat starting next month when Cape Cod Coffee moves into the Terminal Building’s restaurant space.
The Airport Commission signed a lease Nov. 14 with Cape Cod Coffee, which plans to open in early December and offer its signature coffee. The company uses beans imported from more than a dozen countries including Colombia, Costa Rica and Ethiopia. The beans are roasted at the Cape Cod Coffee’s Mashpee facility and sold wholesale and retail. The company has been in business 47 years and also operates a coffee shop at Mashpee Commons.
“We are very excited to be at the airport as we believe it’s a perfect fit for us as we continue to build our brand and customer loyalty throughout New England,” said Jan Aggerbeck, who owns the business with his wife, Pam.
Pastries, bagels, muffins, grab and go salads, grab and go sandwiches, chips and more will be among the food offerings and choices will be expanded once the cafe is up and running.
Free parking will be available to the public in designated spaces near the cafe.
“We are all thrilled to have Cape Cod Coffee as our new partner and look forward to the smell of fresh coffee throughout the terminal,” said Airport Manager Bud Breault.
The official opening date will be announced soon.
