Eastern earns 100 percent on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 15th Annual Scorecard on LGBTQ Workplace Equality
For a fourth consecutive year, Eastern Bank Corporation received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Eastern joins the ranks of 517 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year.
“Eastern Bank is proud to be nationally recognized again as a best place to work for members of the LGBTQ community,” said Nancy Huntington Stager, Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Charitable Giving, Eastern Bank. “We are deeply committed to ensuring that Eastern is a welcoming and inclusive workplace where all employees can bring their whole self to work. Diversity and Inclusion is a fundamental aspect of our corporate values in our pursuit to make the world better, fairer, and more sustainable.”
The 2017 CEI rated 1,043 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Eastern Bank’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
