Eastern Insurance Group, LLC announced that it has acquired the assets of the John E. Patterson Insurance Agency, Inc., a full-service insurance agency located in Westwood, Mass.
The deal, which combines two independent insurance agencies with an unwavering commitment to their customers, colleagues and communities, will provide new Eastern Insurance customers with access to a broader range of insurance choices, services and capabilities, said Hope A. Aldrich, President and CEO of Eastern Insurance.
“We are excited to welcome the Patterson Insurance Agency employees and customers to the Eastern Insurance family,” said Aldrich. “Similar to so many of our previous partnerships, the Patterson Insurance Agency is a perfect cultural fit for our organization.”
Patterson’s staff, including its president, John M. Patterson, became Eastern employees on August 1st. Eastern will rebrand Patterson’s office in Westwood (190 Washington Street) over the next three to four months and has plans to expand its staff as the office grows. The deal marks Eastern Insurance’s 25th acquisition since it became a subsidiary of Eastern Bank Corp. in 2002.
“We are proud of what we have built in providing the best property and casualty insurance programs for the people and businesses of Westwood and Norfolk County,” said John M. Patterson, who joined Eastern as a Vice President in Sales. “We believe that the choice of Eastern Insurance will serve our clients and employees extremely well with its ability to provide elevated resources and services.”
The Patterson Insurance Agency was founded in 1947 and served individual, family and business customers, which Aldrich noted are a good fit for Eastern Insurance as it increases its customer base in the Westwood and Rte. 128 corridor.
“Westwood expands our existing customer footprint, making this an attractive opportunity to partner with a successful agency with an excellent reputation in the community,” said Aldrich.
Eastern Insurance is the largest insurance agency headquartered in Massachusetts and the 51st largest agency in the United States.
