The “Art on Loan” program which displays the work of local artists on the meeting room walls in Barnstable Town Hall, currently features the works of painter Ellen Moran. Works on display in the Selectmen’s Conference Room and the Town Hall Hearing Room, located on the 2nd floor in Barnstable Town Hall, now through July 14th, 2017.
Ellen Moran, has made Cape Cod her home since 1973. After graduating with a BFA in Art Education from UMass Amherst, she taught art in the Falmouth Public Schools for 32 years and has been selling her creations for an even longer time.
Her personal artistic expression, whether through calligraphy or watercolors, has often been inspired by the simple things in life and her love of the natural beauty of the Cape’s landscapes and people.
Ellen lives in West Barnstable with her husband Rick, a talented furniture maker, her son, Adam, and her black lab, Shadow.
The Artwork on Loan program provides a venue for local artists to display their work. Visitors who use the meeting rooms will discover an inviting and attractive environment and have an opportunity to learn about some of the Cape’s local artists.
