The works of photographer Marie Grady Palcic now on display at Barnstable Town Hall through end of January, 2017
The “Art on Loan” program which displays the work of local artists on the meeting room walls in Barnstable Town Hall, currently features the works of photographer Marie Grady Palcic. Works are displayed in the Selectmen’s Conference Room and the Town Hall Hearing Room, located on the 2nd floor in Barnstable Town Hall, now through the end of January, 2017.
Originally from Albany, NY, Marie Grady Palcic spent a lifetime vacationing with family on Cape Cod. A deep love for all that is the Cape was born in those early days and is still as strong an inspiration today.
Marie inherited an appreciation for all visual arts from her mother, a talented artist who enjoyed all forms of painting. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Marie dabbled in painting, but found her true passion at an early age in photography. A self-taught hobbyist, she was lucky to turn her hobby into a successful 35-year career in the retail portrait industry.
After retiring, Marie and her husband fulfilled a dream and moved to Cape Cod. Inspired by the beauty of the four seasons on the Cape, Marie’s love of photography turned away from portraits and towards the world of nature. She currently spends her time photographing and editing images of Cape Cod. Using the digital technology as one of her tools, Marie’s images combine her photographic and painting interests.
