If you’re planning to visit the 16th Annual Cape Cod Enchanted Village at the Cape Codder Resort this year, be sure to bring a gift card, new toy or non-perishable food for their Giving Tree! All donations go to Independence House, Cape Cod’s leading resource, counseling and advocacy center to address and prevent domestic and sexual violence.
According to Donna Giberti, Independence House’s Director of Development and Marketing, 114 women with children from the domestic and sexual violence program and 48 teens and children in their teen/child programs benefitted from the generous donations made by visitors to the Cape Codder Resort in 2016. Independence House has been the sole recipient of the resort’s Giving Tree donations since their first Enchanted Village opened in 2002.
“Independence House makes a positive difference in the lives of so many. We are happy that the donations received from last year’s Enchanted Village helped so many have a brighter holiday”, said Bill Catania, President of Catania Hospitality Group. “Our goal each year is to exceed the amount donated in the previous year.”
The Cape Cod Enchanted Village lights up the Cape Codder Resort’s courtyard each night at dusk from December 1st through New Year’s Eve. Santa visits each Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 5pm to 8pm and is available to hear children’s requests and pose for photos. At the same time, the Cape Cod Surftones stroll throughout the resort spreading cheer with holiday songs.
The Cape Codder Resort & Spa is also hosting four FREE holiday concerts on Saturdays at 7pm. All concert attendees are encouraged to bring a gift for the Giving Tree.
