During Thursday evenings this summer from 6:30 – 8:30PM, the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Hyannis at 486 Main Street is open to visitors interested in historic downtown Hyannis.
Founded in 1771, the present church fellowship began using the current building in 1825. Members will greet visitors and tell them about the rich history of the church including its use as the first lending library and location for school graduations.
The stained glass windows are over 100 years old and the church has one of the few Aeolian -Skinner pipe organs on the Cape.
The First Baptist Church invites you to “take a break” and visit our historic church.
