For Immediate Release:
On Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 6pm, the Hyannis Public Library will
host an informational program on ticks with Larry Dapsis, Barnstable
County’s “Tick Man.” During the library program, he will answer
questions on all of the latest research on ticks after a showing of
the film “Tick Days.” This short film addresses a growing and
under-recognized health crisis on Cape Cod and beyond. Directed and
produced by Wefleet resident Marnie Crawford Samuelson and Shane
Hofeldt, the film features Larry Dapsis, part “tick detective, part
evangelist,” as he shares valuable information about ticks in order to
prevent Cape Cod’s residents and visitors alike from being infected
with Lyme disease or new pathogens such as Powassan virus. Mr.
Dapsis was recently featured on WCVB’s “Chronicle” and on the Channel
10 Boston news to share his knowledge about the serious threat from
ticks. Join us to learn more about the ways to protect yourself and
your family as you spend more time outdoors this spring.
This program is free and open to the public.
