Hyannis, MA — The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod will host a free seminar titled “Understanding the New Tax Law” on Wednesday, June 27, at the Hearth ‘n Kettle restaurant in Yarmouth. The seminar is part of the bank’s quarterly “Breakfast with a Banker” series, which offers advice and expert knowledge on a variety of issues facing local business owners.
The upcoming seminar will be presented by Gary DellaPosta, who founded his own firm, Gary M. DellaPosta, CPA, in 1982. DellaPosta is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, as well as the Massachusetts Society of CPAs. He provides accounting, tax and advisory services to more than 550 individuals and 175 businesses on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Southeastern Massachusetts.
Topics will include business income deduction for pass thru entities, section 179 depreciation, meals and entertainment deduction changes, corporation tax rate reduction, mortgage interest limitations, real estate/state income tax deductions and the alternative minimum tax. Business owners will also have an open forum to ask questions.
