The Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works’ Water Supply Division will be starting a water works construction project that will improve the water quality and fire flows for customers of the Hyannis Water System.
The project will replace and upgrade approximately 1975 feet of water main on Main Street from Sea Street to the West End Rotary. Included in the project are the replacement of valves, fire hydrants and customer water services up to the property line. The major work is anticipated to be done this year and final paving to be completed in the spring of 2016.
There may be brief periods of water service interruption in the area. Prior to any anticipated service interruption, residents will be given 48 hours notice by the contractor. The specific notices will be distributed to the residents affected by shut-downs, indicating time and day of each shut-down.
